IBSC CP-C® EXAM PREP
IBSC CP-C® exam preparation — from Kaplan, the name behind 80+ years of exam success.
Community paramedicine requires a fundamentally different knowledge base than traditional 911 emergency response. This prep product focuses on the expanded scope of the CP-C® exam: conducting community health needs assessments, managing patients with chronic conditions in home and non-urgent settings, navigating the healthcare and social services system on behalf of patients, and operating within mobile integrated healthcare (MIH) frameworks under physician or advanced practice provider supervision. Practice questions mirror the applied, scenario-based format of the IBSC CP-C® exam, building the clinical judgment and systems-level thinking the certification is designed to validate.
Experienced paramedics seeking the IBSC CP-C® certification to formalize their community paramedicine role
EMS providers working in or transitioning to mobile integrated healthcare (MIH) programs
Paramedics employed by community paramedicine programs who want structured exam preparation
BCCTPC-certified paramedics adding the CP-C® to their credentials
Any unrestricted paramedic with community paramedicine training or medical director attestation who is ready to certify
The IBSC CP-C® (Certified Community Paramedic) exam is administered by the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) and validates competency in mobile integrated healthcare and expanded EMS services. The exam consists of 135 total questions — 110 graded questions and 25 unscored beta items — with a 2.5-hour time limit. The exam is delivered at Prometric testing centers. To be eligible, candidates must hold a valid, unrestricted paramedic license or certificate and submit proof of education or training in the community paramedic domain, or a completed verification from their medical director confirming knowledge of the CP-C® role and scope. The exam assesses competency across community health, chronic disease management, patient advocacy, social determinants of health, healthcare system navigation, and mobile integrated healthcare frameworks. The CP-C® certification is valid for four years. Recertification requires either 100 approved continuing education credits or retaking the written exam. Kaplan CertPrep’s CP-C® Exam Prep is built to cover the key competency areas of the IBSC CP-C® exam.
