The Flight Paramedic Certified (FP-C®) exam is administered by the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC). The exam consists of 135 multiple-choice questions with a 3-hour time limit. Content domains include patient assessment, airway and ventilator management, cardiovascular and medical emergencies, trauma, pharmacology, and the unique physiology of flight (altitude physiology, gas laws, stressors of flight). Candidates must hold current, unrestricted paramedic licensure and meet clinical hour requirements. The FP-C® is widely recognized as the standard credential for air medical paramedics.
