The Praxis Elementary Education: Science (5905) exam is developed and administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS) and is used by more than 40 states for initial teacher licensure. The exam contains 50 selected-response questions with a 65-minute time limit. Content is organized into four areas: Earth and Space Science (approximately 28%), Life Science (approximately 28%), Physical Science (approximately 28%), and Science and Engineering Practices (approximately 16%). Questions assess content knowledge, scientific reasoning, experimental design, and the ability to apply science concepts to elementary classroom instruction. There is no predetermined passing score — each state sets its own cut score. The exam is offered year-round at Prometric testing centers and via at-home proctored testing. Kaplan CertPrep's Praxis 5905 Exam Prep is being built to align with the current ETS exam blueprint and covers all four content areas.
