The ATI TEAS is developed and administered by Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI), a subsidiary of Ascend Learning. The exam consists of 170 questions (150 scored plus 20 unscored pretest items) with a 209-minute time limit. Content spans four sections: Reading (45 questions, 55 minutes), Mathematics (38 questions, 57 minutes), Science (50 questions, 60 minutes), and English and Language Usage (37 questions, 37 minutes). The TEAS is accepted by over 500 nursing and allied health programs nationwide. Scoring is reported as a composite score (weighted average of all four sections) plus individual section scores. Most competitive nursing programs require a composite score of 70% or higher, though requirements vary by institution. The exam is available at ATI testing centers, Prometric sites, and select nursing schools year-round.
